Leavers Service and Talent Show
We ended a brilliant term with a reflective Leavers Service, during which we showed our appreciation of our Year 6 pupils and thanked them for the wonderful and varied contributions they had made to Thurgoland School. In the afternoon they reminded us what a talented bunch they all are with their entertaining Talent Show. We wish them all the very best as they move onwards to the secondary phase of their education. We will miss you.
Oh Class 6, what stars. Once again dazzling performances in this year's Summer musical, Bugsy Malone made us laugh and cry. Class 6 pupils worked so hard and with such enthusiasm to present this very spectacular end of year event. With plenty of "splurge," wonderful singing and inspiring dancing, everyone in Class 6 gave their "all" to leave us with some amazing memories. Thank you so much - you were all wonderful. Photographs will be added soon.
Brass Band Concert
The rain came again!! This time rain fell on the Brass Bands performing at a concert hosted by the school on behalf of the Performing Arts Development Service. However, despite the poor conditions the children from Class 5 performed exceptionally well and we also had the pleasure of listening to the Barnsley Metropolitan Junior and Intermediate Wind Bands performing. It would have been nice to have enjoyed the strawberries and cream scones provided by the PFSA out in the sunshine, rather than under an umbrella, but once again everyone made the best of it and had an enjoyable time. Many thanks to all those taking part, to PADS for organising the event and for the PFSA for excellent refreshments.
Swimming Gala
Well done to the pupils in Year 5 who represented the school at a swimming gala on 10th July, they did really well and enjoyed competing against other schools.
