School / History / Log Books
Thurgoland CE School was built in 1852. It was extensively remodelled in the 1970's when a new hall, kitchen and an extra classroom were built. The old school house was also incorporated into the school. A further two classrooms and other extensions were completed in January 1993.
There are at present 8 classrooms - including a Reception classroom, the school hall (which also serves as the gymnasium and dining hall), a kitchen, library / study centre, computer suite, medical room, staff room, administration office and Headteacher's office. Externally there are excellent junior sized football pitches, good playgrounds, a basket ball court, wildlife and pond areas, and Foundation Stage play area. The Kids' Centre is also located on the school grounds, this building houses the Pre-school and the Out of School Club.

The school enjoys beautiful views across the surrounding countryside.

The school building combines the old and new.
